.My mom was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s when she was 57

As she got worse, my dad told us he wanted to care for her the way she had cared for us.

He kept her at home as long as he could.

He only got 2-3 hours of sleep at night, making sure she was okay, changing her sheets, clothes, and helping wash her. He never complained.

When my mom moved to a care facility, my dad’s devotion didn’t stop.

He visited her every day. He still helped with everything, even with the nurses there.

He helped lift her, feed her, wash her, and paid close attention to every detail of her care. He did this for ten years.

No complaints. No anger. He was gentle, loving, and dedicated.

My mom passed away on March 22, 2016. My dad was right there with her.

I’m so amazed by what I saw. He’s an incredible person, and I’m lucky to call him Dad.
